Some Notes from Cisco Live 2015 San Diego
-Although I don’t have the exact figures, I observed that there were more woman attendees compared to past years, which is so good.
-Food served in lunch time was bad.
-IM&P 10.x (aka CUPS Server) later now supports multiple sip domains (by configuring IM Address Scheme option) with newer Jabber versions.
-Cisco encourages developers to write applications on Cisco products.
-For single sign-on with Active Directory Microsoft Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS) 2.0 with SAMLv2 Oasis Standard. No attendee was using LDAP other than Active Directory!
-Cisco spark for team collaboration was presented. I think spark has to develop more. Why don’t we use jabber/jabber guest and group chat feature?
-CUCM and Lync integration sessions in large halls were full. Cisco committed that they continue to support Integration with Lync
-Cisco gives weight to Cisco Expressway C and Expressway E (CollabEdge Technology). Which allows mobile and remote UC clients like Jabber Mobile to connect from internet without VPN. So removed the important lack of feature that exists Lync Edge server technology
-Ironport has now a new feature that can clasify an block bulk senders
-Cisco ASA with FirePOWER Services: Next Generation Firewall and IPS on the same box.
-Cisco Context Service: A cloud based contact center!
